We had a VERY eventful weekend! Saturday we were on our way to Cass' grandparents to show them Kendal's Halloween costume we got into an accident. We were driving down 540 and a HUGE deer jumped out in front of us. I have been in almost as many accidents as years that I've been alive but nothing in the world is scarier than an accident with your baby in the car. When I was in high school I got into a bad accident and the car caught on fire, so any accident I've been in since then I hightail it away from the car as fast as possible. I probably look like a crazy person but oh well. The moment the car stopped moving I jumped out, grabbed Kendal's car seat and ran! ha! Still, two days later, I'm so shaken up by it. Yesterday, one of the times we drove by the same spot I started crying. I can't help but think about what could have happened. We are so so so lucky. Especially at that speed, it could have been really bad. It was really bad for my car... and the deer. But really, I'm just thankful. I feel like I can't thank God enough for keeping us all safe. Even Cass, who isn't scared of anything is pretty nervous when we're in the car now. It just reminds us how we aren't always in control. Anyway... here's a picture of the car.
Cass told me later that the hood opened like that on its own - at the time I had assumed someone opened it. So scary.
And here's the deer. Sorry to put a picture of a dead animal on here but he's HUGE so I just thought I'd show you!
Since everyone asks... I'll just tell you - no, we didn't keep it. Haha! Everyone has said "Is everyone okay? Did you keep the deer?" Some redneck guy pulled up immediately and asked for it. Of course, once our nerves had settled Cass was pretty mad at himself for not keeping it! BUT on a happier note... he went hunting on Sunday and got another 9 point. So he's not AS sad now! (But he's still sad because the one we hit was HUGE!)
He says he's now on a mission to rid NWA of deer. Lol!
And on to cuter stuff! After the accident we decided to go ahead and go to his grandparent's then my grandma's to show everyone her costume. I mean... I made this stinkin' thing - people need to see it!
Isn't she the CUTEST chicken you've ever seen!?!?
LOL! The feather's tickle her face!
And here are just a few photos from hanging out at home! She's found her tongue!
I hope everyone has a good week!
